Outside of the majors, amongst many other events and in addition to playing in the Ryder Cup four times in 1947, 1949, 1951 and 1953, Fred also won the British Matchplay three times making him only the 2nd person in the 20th Century to do the double of the Open and the Matchplay; firmly cementing his name in both British and Irish golf Legend. In recognition of his achievements for Irish Golf, today the Irish Boy's Inter-Club team event is called the Fred Daly trophy.
It was however not just on the course that Fred was part of the game, as he was heavily involved with the design and development of the clubs which he played with - and put his name on!
Over the years the Daly name has become synonymous with excellence, skill and passion and is still driving Daly Golf into the 21st Century.
Today, Fred's son Robin Daly, who himself was a Professional Golfer for many years - as both player and coach, is continuing the family involvement in the sport as the designer behind the development of the new technology which we implement into our clubs.
Drawing on his own experience as a golfer and indeed that of his father's allows us to develop a product range that really will make a difference to your game. In fact, the beginning of Robin's own career in club design was sketching club ideas down on paper having listened throughout his childhood to his father coming in off the course, as golfers at all levels do, recounting stories of the dropped shots that could have turned the 72 into a 68 or 68 into a 66!
Having played the game profesionally himself, Robin now combines the development of new innovative technologies with first hand experience of the game.
Into the 2010 season, Robin is continuing to develop the Precision putter range with our core Bi-Concave Profile technology and unique RAS (Repetitive Anchor System) and aims to help golfers sink more putts... experience the difference for yourself!
"I am very proud to be able to continue my father’s craftsmanship, and bring modern technology to putter design - an aspect of the game he would have loved some help with! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us, we look forward to improving your confidence and lowering your scores on the greens."

Our roots in golf were set by Fred Daly who, aside from having a very successful professional carrer, in 1947 became the only Irishman from either side of the border to have won The Open when he posted a total score of 293 around Hoylake. Fred remained the only Irishman to have won the biggest prize in golf until Padraig Harrington brought the trophy home in 2007 (and 2008!).
